Frequently Asked Questions
I hope to answer most of your questions here. If you don't see what you're looking for, please e-mail me.
Q: How big or small does the sample
graphic have to be for the chip?
A: The image has to be 502 x 277. If you're not sure how to
make your artwork that size, you can e-mail it to me and I can
assist for free. I can then make you a free virtual sample of
the final product and e-mail it back to you for your review.
Q: What DPI (dots per inch) does the
image have to be in?
A: If you resize your graphic to 502 x 277 pixels, then the DPI is
inconsequential. But if you must know, it works out to be
approximately 221 DPI. You can use any image you like on these
chips using any DPI you like, as long as the final image is resized
to 502 x 277. The DPI of an image will change whenever you
resize it to a different size. Therefore, you will lose
whatever DPI the image originally was.
Q: Can you make double-sided chips?
A: Yes! There is a small additional charge per chip.
Q: Is there a warranty for your chips?
A: If the chips are treated right, they will last for many years and
look just as beautiful as they did when they were new.
Although they are fairly durable, I have seen a few cases where
chips have been dropped or abused. In some of these cases, the
clear coat had started to separate from the chip. If your chip
exhibits signs of the clear coat separating from the chip and there
is no visible evidence that the chip was ever dropped or abused, I
will replace the chip for free up to one year after purchase.
Q: Can we chose a different color chip
from the 11 that you offer? And can we change the color of the
dice and card suites on the chip too?
A: Unfortunately not. I hope that more color options will be
available in the future. But all chips, except the white ones,
have white dice and card suits around the border. The dice and
card suits on the white chips are blue.
Q: Are there any hidden fees or
additional costs that you haven't talked about yet?
A: The only additional charges, besides the cost of the chips, might
be any unusual additional time I spend in helping you with your
graphic images you want on your chips. Ideally, you will be
able to create your image on your own and submit it to me in just
about any file type at 502 x 277 pixels. And I don't mind
spending some time in taking your original artwork or picture and
working with it to look it's best on a chip. I offer that
service for free to you anyway. It's only in certain unusual
cases where I'm spending more than an hour or so on your artwork, or
several different images, that I may have to add an additional fee
for my time. I have yet to do this, by the way.
And remember that shipping within the continental United States with a tracking number is free. If you are overseas, including Hawaii, or you require faster shipping, additional shipping costs will incur.
